HORN NUSSBAUMER is the online portfolio of Anais Horn & Alexander Nussbaumer. With a special emphasis on Magazine Design we work in all fields of visual communication, including Editorial Design, Graphic Design, Corporate Design, Exhibition Design and Photography.

Besides our classical design portfolio and due to our careers as Creative Directors we offer profound knowledge and experience in editorial photo conception and production, including art buying, castings, location scouting and set design.

We are based in Vienna/Austria.

ANAIS HORN Born 1981 in Graz/Austria, lives and works in Vienna/Austria. Education May-June, 2008: Young Professionals Study Exchange program in New York (a grant awarded by Rotary International). From 2001, Anais Horn attended JOANNEUM University of Applied Sciences (Graz, Austria) and Potsdam University of Applied Sciences (Potsdam, Germany) where she completed her studies in Communication Design, with emphasis on Graphic Design, Photography and Exhibition Design, in 2005. Diploma thesis on "Typologies of female identity in Alfred Hitchcock's late American works." 1999-2001: Study courses in German Literature, French, and Media Studies. Work Experience and Achievements 2009: completely redesigned COMPLIMENT, Austria's magazine for women aged 40+ (together with Alexander Nussbaumer). From 2008: Creative Director of DIVA, Austria's fashion magazine and DIVA WOHNEN, magazine for interior furnishing and design. From 2006: Creative Director of WIENERIN, Austria's women's magazine. Anais Horn, together with Alexander Nussbaumer, developed completely new visual concepts for those magazines: WIENERIN 2007, DIVA & DIVA WOHNEN 2008, COMPLIMENT 2009. 2005-2008: co-publisher and fashion director of BOB, the independent mono-thematic art magazine published twice a year in Germany and Austria. 2000-2005: Several traineeships and freelance work in the fields of Graphic Design, Advertising, Exhibition Design and PR in Austria and Germany, including: Jung von Matt, Wien; Pixelpark, Berlin; Kada Design, Graz; Steirischer Herbst, Graz; Knowbotic Solutions, Frankfurt am Main.

ALEXANDER NUSSBAUMER Born 1980 in Villach/Austria, lives and works in Vienna/Austria. Education From 2001, Alexander Nussbaumer attended JOANNEUM University of Applied Sciences (Graz, Austria) and Potsdam University of Applied Sciences (Potsdam, Germany) where he completed his studies in Communication Design, with emphasis on Graphic Design, Photography and Exhibition Design, in 2005. Diploma thesis on "The principle of shop-windows as interface between mobile concept-stores and urban areas." 1994-2000: Higher Technical College for Civil Engineering/Architecture, Villach, Austria Work Experience and Achievements since 2009: Freelance Graphic Designer, Art Director & Photographer 2008-2010: Art Director of COMPLIMENT, Austria's magazine for women aged 40+ 2006-2010: Art Director of WIENERIN kocht & WIENERIN Food&Style, food magazines 2009: completely redesigned COMPLIMENT, Austria's magazine for women aged 40+ (together with Anais Horn). 2008-2009: Creative Director of DIVA WOHNEN, magazine for interior furnishing and design. 2006-2009: Deputy Art Director of WIENERIN, Austria's women's magazine. Alexander Nussbaumer, together with Anais Horn, developed completely new visual concepts for those magazines: WIENERIN 2007, DIVA & DIVA WOHNEN 2008, COMPLIMENT 2009. 2003-2006: Freelance work in the fields of Editorial Design, Graphic Design and Exhibition Design at 032c workshop, Berlin. 2001-2003: Freelance work in the fields of Graphic Design and Civil Engineering for the architectural competition team at Hohensinn Architektur, Graz.
